Squarespace Group Workshops
Do you support small businesses or freelancers? Give them the skills to create their own websites using Squarespace. My group workshops can be tailored to any requirements and delivered in person, or remotely via Zoom. They’re ideal for:
Business growth organisations
Industry associations
Coworking spaces
Options
My workshops are always fun (and a little bit silly) but ultimately jam-packed with useful content, explained in a clear and accessible way. In addition to being a Squarespace expert, I’m a massive geek about resources and tools that are helpful for freelancers, so I’ll be sharing these throughout the training too.
Here are some examples of the workshop options I offer, but I can create a bespoke programme for your organisation. Get in touch for a custom quote.

“Before you get started” questions
A pre-recorded video and workbook that will be sent out in the weeks prior to the workshop to encourage attendees to consider their website purpose, audience, structure and calls to action. Completing this isn’t essential for the workshop, but it will help attendees to get the most from it.
Resource Hub
Attendees can get free access to a community space and resource hub, where they can ask questions and find more information about many of the resources I’ll be referring to throughout the workshop.
Pre-launch Checklist
It’s always a bit nerve-wracking when you’re about to make your website live; you often worry if you’ve forgotten something! Attendees can all get my Pre-launch Checklist for free when they attend the workshop.
Available for an additional fee
Online course access
I’m currently recording online video courses for Squarespace 7.1 to include getting started, blogging and selling online with Squarespace. These will have a value of £125+ once released, I can provide a discounted licence so attendees can access the content for free and refer back to modules as a refresher.
Office hours
I can do follow-up live Zoom sessions where I would share my screen and answer any questions that have come up. Students can also comment and ask questions live.
Support calls
I can offer a 30 minute one-to-one support call with screen sharing via Zoom to take attendees through any areas where they are stuck or simply to review their site. This would be available for three months as part of the workshops package.
Why choose me?
I’m a Squarespace Authorised Trainer
I’ve been using Squarespace to create websites since 2013 and started offering training in January 2015. Over six years later, delivering workshops and one-to-one training (virtually or in person) makes up half of my business. I was directly approached by Squarespace to be in the first ever cohort of Authorised Trainers and helped to shape the programme.
I have a background in education
I’m a former teacher and quite frankly if I can make a group of 30 teenagers interested in modern foreign languages then you can trust me to deliver an interesting and engaging workshop. Before going freelance, I worked for a non-profit managing their education arm, which involved delivering workshops and speaking internationally on the topic of sustainability. It was through the creation of campaigns and online learning for this project that I first developed my website skills.
I’m immersed in the world of small businesses
In addition to working with freelancers through my business, I’m also actively involved in projects to support people who are self-employed. This allows me to bring in lots of real world examples to my training and add value with thoughtful extra suggestions and resources. I run the award-winning Freelance Folk community, I co-host a podcast for freelancers called 99 Problems (but a boss ain’t one) and also represent IPSE members as a Forum Leader.
Workshops are jargon-free
As you might already be gathering, I don’t like to talk in formal business-speak or using buzzwords. I love explaining technical concepts clearly and people often comment on my patience, especially if they’re initially lacking in confidence.
Feedback
I’ve delivered workshops both on behalf of other organisations and independently. Here are some of the comments that I’ve received about the training.
I wanted to create a new website and heard Squarespace was one of the best. I already have some prior knowledge of how to design websites but I wasn't confident enough on Squarespace to go off and do it on my own. Katy's workshop was perfect because it not only taught me really useful tips and steps on how to create a Squarespace site it also included actually building your website so you leave with a great framework to build upon! I found Katy's teaching style really engaging and easy to learn from, she was very patient and seemed to cater to everyone's level in the group.
SARA BENAISSA
Freelance Copywriter, Fraiche Ink
Katy delivered a series of workshops for us to help entrepreneurs set up Squarespace websites for their businesses. Katy was very knowledgeable and had a friendly approach to teaching. Attendees commented that the practical learning element was very important, they could leave the workshop having actually started on their own website. Katy’s follow on support was superb, going above and beyond with a Facebook support group and even creating special code to be able to make their website bilingual. I would thoroughly recommend Katy’s Squarespace workshops.
SARA LOIS ROBERTS
Enterprise Hub Coordinator, Hwb Menter
Katy has supported the University of Chester’s Venture Programme over the past five years, delivering workshops to entrepreneurial students and graduates. Katy’s sessions are always delivered in an energetic, accessible, comprehensive way which have equipped and prepared our students to confidently build their web presence in the most effective way. Her anecdotal stories and depth of insight brings a ‘realness’ to her talk - which is often commented upon by our attendees – whilst her range of experience and expertise provide practical tools and techniques. Katy is a delight to work with who delivers high value, relevant content.
