Squarespace 7.1 update

Upgrade from version 7.0 to access new features and more design flexibility.

How does the update work?

If you’re currently using the older version of Squarespace (7.0) there is now a tool available to allow you to upgrade to the latest version (7.1) for free.

The update tool will try and match your existing site design and you will see a preview of your site on version 7.1 so you can make some design changes before you go live with the new version. It will try its best to match the design but it’s not an exact science, so you will almost certainly need to spend some time tweaking the spacing, fonts and colours.

Once you’re on version 7.1, you’ll have the option of another upgrade, this time to the new content editor: Fluid Engine. Suuuuuper terrible name but it’s pretty cool. It basically feels more like moving content around on Canva or a PowerPoint. And no more wrangling with spacer blocks!

Technically you can do all of these upgrades yourself, but I know that can feel a bit scary and you might worry about messing up your site. If this sounds familiar, I can take care of the update process for you, with the option of a design and/or content refresh at the same time.
