Why do I include my pronouns?

I use she/her and try to include my pronouns on all communications. Here’s why that matters.

  • It normalises pronoun use for everyone

    Including pronouns routinely means that nobody feels singled out by sharing theirs.

  • It avoids confusion and hurt feelings

    Misgendering someone may feel awkward but it can also be damaging to their mental health.

  • It creates a safe and inclusive space

    Sharing your pronouns shows that you are an ally who respects how people identify.
